RIGHT TO IMAGE DE-INDEXING
What it is
The right to image de-indexing is the right to obtain the removal from Google Images searches (and other search engines) of photos or images of yourself that appear in results when someone searches your name.
DIFFERENCE from "Right to be Forgotten":
-
Right to be forgotten: removes text links to web pages from Google Search
-
Image de-indexing: removes images from Google Images search
Google Images is a separate visual search engine: images remain on original websites but no longer appear in visual searches. Image de-indexing is more complex than text de-indexing because images can spread across hundreds of sites and each requires evaluation.
